My Personal experience with Wyndham Westwinds, North Myrtle Beach

10:30 PM

I had the opportunity to stay at Wyndham Westwinds in North Myrtle Beach last week. I actually rented a condo for 3 nights from a timeshare owner, as I personally am not yet a timeshare owner myself.

I honestly was not sure what to expect, as I had never stayed in a timeshare before. In my mind, I imagined it was much like a hotel and in many ways, it was. We stayed in a 2 bedroom "Ocean View" room. The room itself was very nice, spacious and very clean, which was a huge plus for me. The Ocean View part should not have been advertised as such though, as the only possible way we could view the Ocean was to go to the farthest part of the balcony and lean far over to glimpse the ocean between our Condo and the condo next door. It was not a huge deal, but I was a bit disappointed.

The staff at Wyndham Westwinds was wonderful! Ann, the lady at the front desk was simply amazing and was more than helpful. We arrived 4 hours before official check-in and when I called to ask if we could simply park in the parking lot until check in time and go ahead and let the kids cool off in the water , she allowed us to go ahead and check in early, I loved her for this as the A/C in my suburban had quit 2 hours in to a 7 hour drive and we were in need of Air Conditioning.

The condo itself was just great, we had everything we needed right down to a Washer and Dryer and Vacuum. The linens were all white and crisp and clean. One bedroom had a T.V., as did the living room, but the second bedroom with the twin beds did not, which was a small let down for the kids and would have been great if the kids who slept in that room could have had T.V. to unwind at night. The indoor/outdoor pool was clean, even though we did not use it, many people took advantage of it and we did walk through the pool area on our way to the beach. The property itself had activities everyday, and we participated in a couple and watched as others participated in things such as a Cornhole tournament and Ball Room Dance lessons.

Overall, I would say we had a very nice experience, especially with our large family, and were treated with the utmost respect and not once were we ask to participate in a timeshare presentation ( which would have been nice, as we are starting to see advantages of possibly owning a timeshare). I would say that Wyndham seems to me a very nice place to consider if you plan to purchase a timeshare, just make sure to ask questions and do your research before you book your rooms to make certain you get exactly what you think you are getting.
