Disney Side : Our Famous Disney Side Party!

8:59 PM

I have to say, it was amazing to be chosen to host a Disney Side party through Disney & Moms Select. I was given this awesome kit to host this party which included luggage from American Tourister and so many goodies , I could not possibly list them all.

As I write this, we have just finished up our party and the kids and Chris are working on the cleanup , ,I just finished cleaning up the Kitchen myself.

I thought long and hard about what theme I wanted our Disney Side party to be and it started out I wanted retro Walt Disney to current, but it since changed about 5 more times until we decided, hey why not just mix things up.

My first project I decided on was to make a photo booth, I started with Daisy Duck but decided the boys would not all be too happy about that, so we brainstormed and came up with Frozen Olaf and a sidekick. It took me quiet awhile working on this.

I started with a Gaylord Box cut at one side for an opening to get through, then I spray painted the box with a mixture of Silver and White just to give it some color other than brown , plus, even though I wanted to use blue, we were determined to do our party on a budget and I had these Spray colors at home.  Next was the making of the snowmen, I used Poster board for that, printed out a picture of Olaf and free handed each part of him on to a poster board. I did the same for the sidekick . We then used Spray adhesive and adhered them to the box in the position I chose to put them in. Once they were in position, I cut out the head of the sidekick snowman so the kids and adults could easily get their head in for a picture.

This was a big hit with all the kids, teenagers and adults. we actually took their pictures and by the end of the party had printed them out on our Genuine HP Photo paper which came with our Disney Side Kit and put them in to hand decorated frames the girls and I had worked on all week, so the kids and adults had keepsakes to take home.

I also made Daisy cupcakes, I simply sprayed the incing coloring paint onto the cupcakes and added a Daisy Duck Sucker in each one. We also had frozen cupcakes where I was able to find edible decorations and again sprayed the cupcakes, blue this time and added a decoration to each one. For the boys, we did Micky Cupcakes and Tie Dye cupcakes, using Fondant and different color spray.

I didn't want to leave the little ones out, so I also purchased Mickey Mouse themed Sippy cups for them to take home as well and all the other kids had Mickey Cups, Plates and Napkins provided in my Disney Side kit. We also had tons of decorations provided to us and used them all over the two rooms we had the party in.

A few other fun things we did was have balloons and a balloon race with the kids, as well as a balloon gathering contest to see who could gather the most balloons in 30 seconds, I had made little gift bags for winners of the games plus Goody bags for each child to take home which also contained craisins that came with our Disney Side kit. The Kids also each had a Huge envelope with a card inside to write or draw on, some of the kids, mine included wrote to Mickey and ask him to bring them to Disneyland.

For other party foods, we had mini sandwiches made from Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutters included in our kit, as well as a variety of chips, carrots, raw veggies & dip, popcorn with popcorn bags and we had frozen playing in the background through the party as well.

I also set up a Nail station for the Disney Princesses we had at our party and did their nails with ribbons and bows and ducks and snowmen, whatever they wanted that pertained to Disney.

In out kit we were also provided balloons, bracelets, plenty of HP Photo paper for pictures, Disney trivia and so much more. Had we been at Disney, I think it would have still been a hit because the kids had a blast.

It was also such a beautiful day that we had a few outdoor activities the kids could enjoy as well, including gym scooters, gator Golf, Murbles and horseshoes for the adults.

Overall, thanks to my Disney Side Kit, I think our party was a hit and I have had many several moms already ask me about using my photo prop or planning parties for their children ( I had to pass on the planning, with my illness and work and blogging plus mommy duties and after school activities, I have my hands full..not including my wedding in just 3 months)

One good thing, baby Asher turns one in 2 weeks, and with the left over party decorations, we decided to do his Birthday party in Mickey Mouse. The decorations , the table cloth, and the extra stuff I purchased that was left over, we can just add to it and it gets double duty with our Disney Side Kit.
